Sculptures for public places are often made in assigment, but also the 'free' works get purchased for public spaces. The sculptures are suited for outdoor use, but indoors they also draw the attention of the people. Here is an overview of public sculptures by Joshua Pennings.
This 5.5 meter high sculpture was made in 2013 commissioned by Rabobank. Joshua won the sculpture competition, and thus got the job. It is entirely produced in-house and made of CorTen-steel. It is located in front of the Rabobank Business Center in Boxmeer. It is near the Maas Hospital and visible from the highway A77.

The Friendly Dragon is created in 2012. Its size is 185 x 235 x 180 cm. In 2012 the Dragon was first on display at the Keukenhof in Lisse, NL. Wherever he appeared, he attracts many people, it is cuddly and likes to go on the photo. In 2013 it travelled for more than 60-days by container ship. Again, the dragon turned out to be the audience favorite. The dragon has been purchased and is now sits permanently on the University Campus of the FEFU on Russky Island, Vladivostok, Russia. It overlooks a beautiful bay of the Japanese sea.

This largescale 'Playfish' was created in 2011 in 'Speelvis' is gemaakt in 2011 , the size is 4 x 4 x 2 meter. It is made of CorTen-steel and stainless steel. Client gemeente Venlo. The design and specification of the security label created by Joshua Pennings. Production is done in collaboration with artist blacksmith Juul Baltussen. The artistic playfish is situated in the shopping area of Blerick.Children can go in the belly of the fish and in the mouth and out again. Through the portholes they can look outside and the teeth act as a seats to sit on.

This life-size tiger portrait was created for the organizer of the exhibition in Vladivostok. The tiger is the symbol of the region / province Primorskiy Kray. During the exhibition Joshua handed the tiger symbolically over to the governor of the region with lots of media attention. It gets a beautiful place in the Arsenyev Museum.

In 2013, Joshua was invited to participate in a metal art symposiumin the city of Skoda, Mladá Boleslav. A total of five European metal artists have worked on their own sculpture for a week. Because the city has a very large Skoda carfactory Joshua designed and created a 'Working Mans Castle ' It is about 250 x 45 x 55 cm and made of CorTen-steel and here and there some auto parts.

This smaller artwork was purchased in 2013 by the 'Friends of the Museum' and donated to the museum. The stylized owl of CorTen-steel and polished stainless steel is now showing off in the museum.
For the world championship Aquabike Offshore Racing in 2013, which was held on Russky Island, Vladivostok, Joshua was asked to design and create the award for the winner. After five days of racing team Pastorello became world champion. The award goes with them to their home country Italy.
